So this morning I had a dilemma; get out of bed or sleep in for another hour. Well I silenced my alarm and laid back down but before I could even shut my eyes the thought of my previous post about getting up came screaming from my subconscious to haunt me. I made it to bed at a decent time the night before so I really didn't have a good excuse as to why I should sleep in and not go get my fit on. Carlie hadn't stirred yet so I quietly tried to crawl out of bed and get dressed in the dark. I hadn't made it to my sock drawer before she was up and pulling on her running shoes. So Team Darwin was up and at 'em!
It's always hard driving to the box still yawning and stretching, but by the time you've settled into your warm up the rest of the morning takes care of itself. I tried to go easy on myself today and only use 75lbs for my presses but my bar was taken when I came back from my run so I had to upgrade to 95lbs, which I'm glad I did or I would have felt like I had cheated the rest of the day. I also tried to use the biggest kettllebell I could find, my body is thanking me as we speak.
So, do I regret not sleeping for that extra hour today? No. Am I glad I took my own sweet, sweet, all-knowing advice? Yes. Practice what I preach, and you'll be flogging glad you did!
Just thinking about our little chat a few days ago about running more...I TOTALY shouldn't have let you both off the hook today and had you run 400's :) - Good thing there is always next time!
